"Continual Deficiencies in Maintaining Financial Accountability"

Financial Inaccountability fosters Stagnation in all spheres

Financial Inaccountability can lead to several detrimental effects on an organization. Firstly, it erodes trust among stakeholders, resulting in decreased support and investment. Financial Inaccountability also promotes an I don't care way of doings things within an Organization. Additionally, inefficiency becomes prevalent as poor financial management hinders effective decision-making and resource allocation. The risk of fraud and embezzlement also increases, posing a significant threat to the organization's integrity. Lastly, without proper financial oversight, growth and development opportunities may be missed, leading to stagnation and hindering progress.

We Believed We Could Be Responsible

In the midst of inconsistencies, poor groupings, confusion, financial dishonesty, and more, the concerned and agitated members saw the need for a new beginning. An exco meeting was held to focus on establishing order, discipline, and commitment. Several decisions were made during this meeting and presented to the general assembly at the residence of our newly appointed patron on his first day with us. The general assembly adopted these decisions, incorporating the recommendations of our patron.

Members were required to reaffirm their commitment to the Koro with a re-registration fee of 5000Fcfa. A handful of members paid, and more were willing to pay. At this point, there was relative calm as no one was looking back to dishonest behaviors. We knew we were about to open a new chapter in our beloved Koro

Immediate cause of separation

"Some members bypassed the decisions of the executive committee, general assembly, as well as the recommendations made by our newly installed patron on his first day, in his house. They implemented their own decisions during the next Koro sitting without consulting the executive committee, president, or the newly installed patron. This further hindered efforts to achieve Financial Accountability, and the regularization of some members, which has long plagued the Koro."
